3.1 Performs professional work in the compounding and dispensing of medication in unit dose and I.V.

admixture.

3.2 Reviews and interprets physician’s drug order for clarity, rational, dosage form, allergies, interactions,

incompatibility, etc.

3.3 Answer physician’s inquiries regarding drugs.

3.4 Maintains control and security of all drugs including dispensing, record keeping and secured storage of

narcotics and controlled medication, as well as patient profiles maintenance and review.

3.5 Prepares and/ or supervises the preparation of TPN and I.V. admixture including chemotherapeutic agents

as appropriate.

3.6 Provides drug information and assists in instructing nursing and medication staff, pharmacy resident and

students.

3.7 Performs inspection of nursing units, discusses service problems with head nurses and recommends

solutions to pharmacy supervisor.

3.8 Assist with special projects as necessary.

3.9 Follow all hospital related policies and procedures.

3.10 Provide patient and family education as per needs.

3.11 Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.

3.12 Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
